QPILCH Volunteers for Semester One

The Queensland Public Interest Law Clearing House Incorporated (QPILCH) is a not-for-profit community based legal organisation that coordinates the provision of pro bono legal services for individuals and community groups. As we are a small and under-resourced office, volunteers play an important role in QPILCH achieving its objectives.

We are currently seeking final year law students to volunteer for semester 1.  Applicants must be able to commit to one day per week on any weekday from the week commencing  8 March to the week commencing 31 May. Successful applicants will need to be friendly, flexible, and able to work independently. This is a highly sought-after opportunity for students wishing to apply their knowledge in a legal environment whilst also being able to develop their research and letter writing skills. Past student volunteers have found the experience rewarding as well as beneficial to their future job prospects.

Applications close 5pm Monday 22 February 2010 and successful applicants will be advised by Thursday 25 February. An induction session will be provided to all successful applicants at our office in West End on Thursday 4 March.
