Bridges Across Borders Southeast Asia International Legal Studies Internship
The Bridges Across Borders Southeast Asia (BABSEA) is currently accepting applications for its 2010 Legal Studies Internship Program. Entering into its 7th year, the BABSEA Legal Studies Internship Program offers an opportunity to make a real contribution to assisting others in overcoming the hardships and legal inequity in Southeast Asia while being involved in a remarkable experience of living and working in the region.
The deadline for applications is March 1st, 2010. Late applications may still be considered depending on circumstance and available space in program.
To be considered for the program, applicants should submit the following: application form, current resume/curriculum vitae, statement of purpose, writing sample, 2 personal references, the liability and waiver form, proof of insurance, and a photocopy of the applicant’s valid passport. Preference will be given to applicants who display a strong academic record, interest in human rights and community service, awareness of different cultures, ability work effectively in teams, to be flexible, open minded, a willingness to commit to the full 12 week program and to be connected and support the work BABSEA does during and after completion of the program.
The program costs are $2600 USD. There are a limited amount of partial program cost waivers which will be granted to applicants who demonstrate great financial need and a history of being involved in human rights/community service projects.
